A message from Alicia M. Rodriguez, MA, PCC

One evening in August 2006,  over dinner in Annapolis, Maryland. Lori Kavle of Simulations International and I were introduced by a friend. During our dinner discussion we realized that we both held similar philosophies on learning and business. That evening the idea for an optimal learning program that combined executive coaching, expert training and “learning by doing” simulations was born!  We conceived the idea through a discussion on how future leaders need to be developed now. We are both successful entrepreneurs involved in a changing landscape that demands innovation and results.  As an executive coach I help companies develop future talent for a world whose demographics will be drastically different than in the past. This is a global environment and as Thomas Friedman claims, a “flat world” where “the global competitive playing field was being leveled.”  My firm has been providing executive coaching services and leadership training and I still couldn’t help feeling that there was a missing link in how to make that new learning sustainable and consistent and immediate. I am a firm believer in coaching and have seen the results of committed clients who develop their leadership and have the courage to change their thinking and their behaviors.  And it does take courage to change without any assurance of the outcome especially when the stakes can be high.

I had at the same time been noticing my own son’s learning style as well.  I was amazed at how quickly he could achieve success through interactive computer games that engaged him (too much sometimes) and that managed to retain his (very short) attention span. As an avid reader and writer on Generations at Work, I also know that GenXers and Millennials are not “wired” to learn classroom style. They demand interaction and immediate feedback – much like the video games they grew up on. How to translate fun into education, knowledge acquisition into practice, investment into returns?

METIS™ takes the best of all learning strategies and blends them into an approach that honors Self Learning, Social Learning and now, SIMbolic Learning™ for optimal learning results.

I hope you take some time to look through our material.  And call us. Let us show you how you can meet the challenge of developing the people who are your company’s best asset in ways that engage, empower and deliver business results fast! Schedule a consultation and demo now.  There’s no time to waste. Time is flying by and the world will only get smaller and flatter. Will you stay ahead of the changes or be caught trying to catch up?

Yours truly,
Alicia M. Rodriguez

A message from Lori Kavle

Simulation development has seen tremendous growth in the last three years with the advent of technology-based simulation software and tools.  As a leader in the simulation industry, our team stays abreast of the advancements in simulations on a daily basis. In all of our ongoing research, we could not find any program that combined the “human” aspects of learning with simulation technology.  Through many meetings, interesting ideas and lively discussions and with Alicia Rodriguez, we knew that the METIS™ program would be the only offering of it’s kind on the market, but it would also revolutionize the way employees learn!

While other training and consulting companies cater to specific training needs by “functional” area such as HR, leadership or technical products and e-learning content, METIS™ focuses on combining all of these core elements. Using the concept of optimal learning where Self Learning, Social Learning and SIMbolic Learning™ converge, companies can tactically empower their employees to go from “good” to “great”!

As President of Simulations International, I am proud and excited to partner with Sophia Associates to enable the revolutionary METIS™ approach.  Using simulations in conjunction with coaching and training will give any company a competitive edge, enable their employees to retain and utilize their knowledge and most importantly, make positive contributions to their company.

Sincerely,
Lori Kavle
