- The U.S. Small Business Administration has certified Sophia Associates, Inc., a Hispanic woman-owned small business as a participant in its 8(a) Business Development Program and the Small Disadvantaged Business Program. SDB and 8(a) firms can be awarded Federal government contracts on a sole-source (non-competitive) basis--up to $3 million for goods and services--and may receive up to $100 million in sole source contracts during their program participation.
